Well, it's been a while hasn't it? Since I last posted there's been five Reckless graphic novels, the Pulp Process Edition, the Night Fever graphic novel and now Where The Body Was is another graphic novel out in a couple of weeks. Ed and I don't do monthly comics anymore, and now put out two new hardcover graphic novels a year instead.

Pulp

By Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips

Colours by Jacob Phillips

Max Winters, a pulp writer in 1930s New York, finds himself drawn into a story not unlike the tales he churns out at five cents a word -- tales of a Wild West outlaw dispensing justice with a six-gun. But will Max be able to do the same, when pursued by bank robbers, Nazi spies, and enemies from his past? Find out in this must-have thriller from one of comics’ most acclaimed creative teams, perfect for fans of The Fade Out and Criminal.

Original graphic novel. 72 pages, hardcover.

Out Wednesday May 20th from Image Comics.

Comics won’t just break your heart.

Comics will kill you.

Hal Crane should know, he’s been around since practically the beginning. Stuck at an out-of-town convention, waiting to receive a lifetime achievement award, Hal’s weekend takes us on a dark ride through the secret history of a medium that’s always been haunted by crooks, swindlers, and desperate dreamers.

BAD WEEKEND—the story some are already calling the comic of the year from its serialization in CRIMINAL #2 and 3—has been expanded, with several new scenes added and remastered into a hardcover graphic novel, in the same format as BRUBAKER and PHILLIPS’ (KILL OR BE KILLED, FATALE, CRIMINAL) bestselling MY HEROES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN JUNKIES. This gorgeous package is a must-have, an evergreen graphic novel every true comics fan will want to own.

Thrillist’s Best Comics & Graphic Novels of 2018

ED BRUBAKER and SEAN PHILLIPS—the bestselling creators of CRIMINAL, KILL OR BE KILLED, THE FADE OUT, and FATALE—present their first original graphic novel in paperback for the very first time!

Teenage Ellie has always romanticized drug addicts, those tragic artistic souls drawn to needles and pills, ever since the death of her junkie mother ten years ago. But when Ellie lands in an upscale rehab clinic where nothing is as it appears to be, she’ll find another—more dangerous—romance, and discover how easily drugs and murder go hand-in-hand.

MY HEROES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN JUNKIES is a seductive coming-of-age story, a pop and drug culture-fueled tale of a young girl seeking darkness… and what she finds there.
